A city in Japan has been cautioned about the risks associated with a cat that came into contact with harmful chemicals.

In a Japanese city, residents are warned not to approach or touch a missing cat that seems to have fallen into a container of toxic chemicals.

The search began after an employee at a metal plating plant in Fukuyama discovered paw prints leading from a vat of hexavalent chromium, a dangerous carcinogen. Exposure to this chemical can cause skin inflammation and respiratory problems.

The company, Nomura Plating Fukuyama Factory, alerted authorities and expressed the need for measures to prevent animals from entering.

There’s no footage of how the cat came into contact, and there are concerns about its well-being. Locals are urged to report any sightings to the police and avoid approaching the potentially harmed cat.
