40 Killed, 60 Injured in Israeli Strike on Gaza Humanitarian Zone

Gaza’s civil defense reported that an Israeli airstrike on the Al Mawasi humanitarian zone in Khan Younis, a southern city in Gaza, has resulted in 40 deaths and 60 injuries. The strike also caused significant damage, including large craters, and has left 15 people missing.

Mohammed Al-Mughair from Gaza’s civil defense stated that the casualties were transported to local hospitals. He added that rescue operations are ongoing to find those who remain unaccounted for.

The Israeli military claimed the attack targeted a Hamas command center they alleged was located within the humanitarian zone. However, Hamas has denied these claims, calling them “a blatant lie.”

Civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal described the situation as a massacre, with entire families reported missing and buried under debris.
