IHC has stated that the matter of missing persons is for the government to address, not the court.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani presided over the hearing, directing relevant departments to provide details about cases against Baloch protesters within seven days.

During the proceedings, Advocate General Ayaz Shaukat sought to present a USB containing Mahrang Baloch’s recent press conference. Justice Kayani declined the USB, emphasizing the daily challenges faced in such conferences.

Addressing the attorney general, Justice Kayani stressed that the Balochistan protesters’ issues need resolution, stating, “You have to resolve the matter, not the court.” He instructed the provision of case details against the protesters, whether in Turbat or elsewhere.

Shaukat mentioned that Baloch protesters are not allowed to demonstrate but added that the government refrains from action due to the court’s relief. The government’s desire is for the protesters to return home, he stated.

Represented by Iman Mazari and Attaullah Kundi, the protesters encountered a crackdown in Islamabad as they resisted forced transportation to Quetta. The IHC had previously extended orders not to harass the protesters, directing facilities provision and appointing a focal person for communication during the last hearing.

Justice Kayani emphasized the responsibility to protect women and children among the protesters, highlighting the pain of those with missing relatives. He noted ongoing disputes and urged responsible conduct, stating, “Even the federal government does not understand where we are taking matters.”
