Kazakhstan proposes joint construction of North-South and TITR corridors with Pakistan.

Kazakhstan has proposed a joint effort with Pakistan to develop the North-South and TITR corridors, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation and leverage the advantages of these transit routes.

The suggestion was presented by Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport, Talgat Lastayev, during a meeting with Pakistan’s First Deputy Minister of Communications, Railways, and Maritime Affairs, Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, in Islamabad.

Lastayev also recommended organizing container transport and exporting goods from Kazakhstan to China through the Aktau Port, extending to Pakistan through the Gulf of Oman.

Emphasizing the need for an efficient transport and logistics system, he highlighted the considerable potential in utilizing these transit corridors to strengthen bilateral ties.

Expressing interest in the implementation of projects such as the ML-4 Gwadar-Quetta and Kohat-Tal-Harlachi railroad lines, Lastayev outlined Kazakhstan’s desire to expand and streamline trade.

Additionally, he proposed a plan for a multimodal communication system via the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route, facilitating the transportation of goods by both railroad and road transport.
