ECP stops salaries of 37 absentee female presiding officers in Kurram ahead of elections.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has initiated disciplinary measures against 37 female presiding officers who were found absent from the election training sessions in the Kurram tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

In response to their absence, the ECP has decided to withhold their salaries. The training program is a crucial component of election preparedness, and the absenteeism of these officers is deemed a serious violation of their responsibilities.

The ECP has not only taken immediate action by halting their salaries but has also directed the chief secretary of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to enforce stringent measures against these absentee polling staff members.

It is reported that approximately 6.6 percent of the total staff designated for election duties was absent from the training sessions, prompting the ECP to emphasize the importance of strict departmental action, particularly against school teachers affiliated with the education department who were part of the absentee staff.
