Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, arrived in Pakistan

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, arrived in Pakistan on Sunday night. He was seen off at Tehran’s Meharabad Airport by Pakistan’s envoy to Iran, Muddasir Tipu, and Iranian officials.

Amir Abdollahian is leading a high-ranking delegation, and during his one-day visit, he will meet with senior Pakistani government officials to discuss various important matters such as security, economic, and trade issues. The visit was made in response to an official invitation from Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.

This visit follows a joint statement made by Iran and Pakistan on January 22, where both countries announced that their respective ambassadors would return to their posts. This decision came after tensions arose due to cross-border missile strikes against terrorists’ hideouts in both countries earlier this month.

Diplomatic sources suggest that this visit by the Iranian foreign minister is a positive step towards normalizing the relationship between the two nations. One of the key points of discussion is expected to be the need to bring to justice the individuals responsible for the killing of nine Pakistanis in Iran. Pakistan is likely to emphasize the immediate investigation of the incident and holding those involved in the crime accountable.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Iran are scheduled to hold a joint press conference after their talks today. This diplomatic engagement aims to strengthen ties and address important issues between the two neighboring nations.
