PTI has shared the plan for its inside-party elections.

With just a few days left until the February 8 general elections, Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has shared plans for its intra-party elections scheduled for February 5 (Monday).

The party’s central media department made the announcement, stating that Raoof Hasan would serve as the federal election commissioner for the polls.

In the released statement, the PTI Federal Election Commission revealed the Election Schedule for the Intra-party Elections (IPE) to select the Chairman, Central, and Provincial Organizations. All registered PTI members up to January 31 can cast their votes for their preferred panel or chairman candidate at designated locations nationwide. Additionally, party members can use the ‘Raabta Application Intra Party Election Module’ to record their votes.

The PTI outlined the details of participating panels and the election procedure in the Election Rules, 2020, available on the party’s official website and Raabta application. Polling will take place from 10 am to 4 pm, and details about election venues and the appellate tribunal will be disclosed on February 1, 2024.

Nomination papers for candidates can be obtained from the PTI central secretariat or website from February 1 to 2, 2024. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is February 2, 2024, until 10 pm. Candidates can submit their papers at central and provincial secretariats and digitally through email.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will occur on February 3, 2024, with the deadline for objection submissions until 10 pm on the same day. The final lists of participating panels will be published on the website at 4 pm on February 4. The official results of the intra-party election are set to be announced on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
