The February 8th general elections have been challenged in the Supreme Court.

A hearing has been scheduled for February 19, to be presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, along with Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Musarrat Hilali.

The hearing will be focused on a petition filed by Brig (retd) Ali Khan, which alleges pre-poll rigging and delays in the announcement of election results that pose a significant threat to democratic principles.

The petitioner has argued that considering these concerns, the formation of a government following the February 8 elections should be ceased, and instead, the Supreme Court should order a fresh election under its supervision.

The upcoming hearing will examine these contentious issues and determine the validity of the February 8 elections. The outcome of the hearing could have far-reaching implications for the political landscape and the electoral process in the country.

Given the significance of the matter, all eyes will be on the Supreme Court as it convenes to consider the petition and determine the next steps in this legal saga.
