The swearing-in ceremony for the newly-elected MPAs will happen tomorrow at 10 am.

The 18th Punjab Assembly’s first meeting is set for tomorrow at 10 am. The members who won in the February 8 general elections will take their oaths during this session.

This announcement follows a parliamentary meeting by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at Jati Umra in Lahore. During the meeting, Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz presided, and 218 members attended.

Maryam, one of the newly elected members, secured victory in both national and provincial assembly seats (NA-119 and PP-159). She is also the PML-N’s candidate for the chief minister position.

In her address, Maryam expressed her commitment to delivering good governance in Punjab, aiming to set records of service. If elected, she would be the first woman to serve as chief minister in Pakistan’s history. Punjab, with a population of over 127 million, faces challenges in healthcare, education, and local government.

Maryam emphasized teamwork and pledged to address issues like sewage, clean water in rural areas, and the development of every lawmaker’s constituency. She dedicated her nomination to the women of Punjab, including daughters, mothers, and sisters.
