Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, has requested permission to see a doctor.
During a corruption hearing today, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asked Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the accountability court for a dental checkup. He cited his age of 70 as the reason behind the request.
Khan has been facing numerous legal challenges since his removal in April 2022 through a no-confidence motion. Despite this, his party emerged as the largest group in the National Assembly during the February 8 elections, putting them in a comfortable position to form the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the hearing of the £190m settlement case, the defendant requested permission to go for a dental check-up. The judge denied the request and suggested he visit the jail doctor instead.
After seven months without a medical check-up, the PTI founder mentioned this fact to the judge.
The judge told the ex-prime minister to submit a request, and the court would then issue a suitable order. Following this, the PTI founder applied.
The court permitted him to meet his wife, Bushra Bibi. The hearing was then adjourned until February 27.
