Huda Kattan, the creator of Huda Beauty, resists threats and remains firm in her support of Palestine.

Huda Kattan, the creator of the makeup empire Huda Beauty, is prepared to jeopardize her entire company because of her position on Israel’s war crimes in Gaza. The forty-year-old American beauty queen, who is of Iraqi descent, claims she has been threatened for sharing her pro-Palestine opinions on the internet. She recently emphasized her dedication to pursuing justice and the truth in a TikTok video.

In the video that was uploaded on December 11, the beauty queen emphasized that she has done “nothing wrong” and that she will “not be intimidated” by Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip.

“We have to trust the process; we cannot be afraid to lose anything. We are doing good work, so even if we lose something, I firmly think that something else will find its way to us,” she remarked.

She criticized attempts to redefine terms related to ethnic cleansing and genocide and expressed her willingness to risk her business for truth and justice.

Kattan emphasized, “I am willing to risk everything I have—my entire business—in the pursuit of justice and the truth.

She emphasized her focus on the suffering of innocent people and said that although she has experienced intimidation, she questions the motivation behind such attempts.

With 54 million Instagram followers and a cosmetics company valued at $1.2 billion, Kattan has a large following, but she doesn’t back down from expressing her opinions online and refutes claims that she is antisemitic.

“I am not antisemitic, nor will I ever be; I am not anti-people in any way. I oppose that,” Kattan said, raising concerns that the actions of the Israeli government might endanger the safety of Jewish people.

She charged that the government was propagandizing lies about the Palestinian people and exploiting religion and people as human shields.

In spite of the possible consequences, Kattan was overwhelmingly praised for her bravery and moral courage in the video’s comment section. A few even promised to convert to her goods as soon as they could afford it.

Kattan has previously voiced her opposition to Israel’s atrocities. An Israeli fan accused her in October of favoring Gaza over Israeli customers, sparking a controversy. “I don’t want blood money,” was Kattan’s response, which sparked a petition asking Sephora to take Huda Beauty out of its US locations.

Subsequently, she declared her intention to donate $1 million to Human Appeal and Doctors Without Borders in support of aid efforts in Gaza.

In 2021, Kattan denounced the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza and the Palestinian evictions from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
