The FIA is going to investigate a construction company for giving a ‘fake guarantee’ to FGEHA.

The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is taking serious steps after discovering that a construction company submitted a fake bank guarantee of Rs710 million.

The FGEHA has requested the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to intervene and take legal action against this construction firm.

The Director of Finance at the Housing Authority, Muhammad Kashif, wrote a letter to the FIA explaining the situation. The construction company had been given a contract to work on a housing scheme for government employees and the Supreme Court Bar Association. This project covered an area of 8,000 canals on Park Road.

To receive an advance for getting started on the project, the construction firm provided a bank guarantee from a branch located in Quetta. The housing authority even verified this guarantee with the bank when they approached for confirmation. As a result, the housing authority paid the construction firm Rs716.2 million as a mobilization advance.

However, things took a turn when the Federal Secretary for Housing received a written complaint. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the bank guarantee was not genuine – it was fake. In response to this, the housing authority has not only requested legal action against the construction company but has also removed the Project Director of the Park Road Housing Scheme. Mohsin Sardar has been appointed as the new Project Director to handle the situation. The FGEHA is working diligently to address this issue and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
