Mbappé’s great play led PSG to the Champions League quarter-finals after a big win against Real Sociedad.

Kylian Mbappé, even though he’s soon leaving Paris Saint-Germain, showed that his time with PSG is not over.

In the Champions League, he scored two amazing goals to help PSG win 2-1 against Real Sociedad. This victory kept PSG’s chances of winning the title alive and moved them to the quarterfinals.

The coach who will lead the team after Mbappé, Luis Enrique, recognized the challenges in the first leg but praised the great performance in the second. He said, “If they play like this, they can win the competition, I have no doubt.” Real Madrid coach Imanol Alguacil praised PSG’s strong intensity, calling them a team “much stronger and much faster than us.”

The game-changing moment happened after just fifteen minutes when Mbappé showed his undeniable skills. After being passed the ball by Ousmane Dembélé, he skillfully moved around his opponent, shooting the ball into the far corner and beating Real Sociedad goalkeeper Álex Remiro.

Luis Enrique pointed out Mbappé’s deadly ability in the final third, saying, “When you leave him facing the keeper in the final third, he’s deadly.” Mbappé proved this with a second goal in the 56th minute, calmly placing the ball past Remiro at the near post.

Despite Real Sociedad trying hard in the second half, they couldn’t overcome PSG’s lead. Ander Barrenetxea’s goal was not allowed, and PSG’s strong defense, led by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, stopped various attempts.

In the end, Real Sociedad’s late goal from Mikel Merino gave some pride to their fans, acknowledging defeat to the better team and recognizing Mbappé’s exceptional performance. The Real captain, Mikel Oyarzabal, summed up the feeling, calling Mbappé “unique.”

As PSG celebrates moving forward in the Champions League, Mbappé’s goodbye performance will surely be remembered as proof of his skill and influence on the field.
