Singer Steve Lawrence passed away at the age of 88. He was known for being part of the famous singing duo Steve and Eydie with his wife Eydie Gormé.
Steve and Eydie were very popular singers in the 1950s and 1960s. They performed together all around the world. Steve’s son, David, said that his father was a very inspiring person who was also funny and loved to sing. David feels very lucky to have had Steve as his dad.
Eydie retired from singing in 2009 because of some health problems. Sadly, she passed away in 2013. Steve kept on performing until 2019 when he found out he had Alzheimer’s disease. This is a disease that affects a person’s memory.
Steve and Eydie met on a popular TV show called “The Tonight Show” and got married in 1957. They were a successful singing team for many years and brought joy to many people with their music.
