Krystyna Pyszková, from the Czech Republic, won the Miss World competition this year

This year, Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic won the Miss World competition held in Mumbai, India. There were many other contestants from all over the world (111 to be exact!).

The competition wasn’t easy. The contestants competed in different areas like fitness, how they looked, showing off talents, and even giving speeches in public. After a few rounds, the number of contestants went down to just the top 12, then the top 8.

These top contestants then answered questions about important things that world leaders were talking about. Krystyna, who is 23 and studies law besides modeling, spoke about periods. She said it shouldn’t be a secret that women get periods and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

After more selections, only 4 contestants were left. They got to talk about the good causes they support to a panel of important people. In the end, Krystyna won! The other finalists were from Lebanon, Trinidad and Tobago, and Botswana.

This Miss World contest is one of the oldest beauty contests in the world, starting way back in 1951! Krystyna takes over from the previous Miss World, Karolina Bielawska from Poland, who won in 2022 (there wasn’t a contest in 2023).
