KP’s Chief Minister wants changes in the law to protect women’s inheritance rights.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has instructed the relevant authorities to make changes to the law to protect women’s rights in inheritance.

While presiding over a meeting of the Board of Revenue, he also directed practical steps to complete phase I of the ongoing land record computerization project by June 2024 and phase II by December 2024.

The chief minister emphasized the importance of deploying the necessary staff at the district level well before completing the land record computerization process.

Provincial Minister for Revenue Nazir Abbasi, Senior Member Board Revenue Ikramullah Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, and other relevant officials were present at the meeting.

During the session, authorities briefed the participants on administrative affairs, reform initiatives, revenue collection, development projects, and other department-related matters.

The chief minister stressed the need to introduce reforms in the Board of Revenue to enhance public service delivery. He directed the concerned authorities to start working on necessary amendments in the legal framework of the department.

These initiatives aim to improve the overall efficiency of the department and ensure the protection of women’s inheritance rights. The chief minister’s emphasis on completing the land record computerization project highlights the commitment to modernizing and streamlining administrative processes for the benefit of the public.
