Pakistan has taken a big step forward in making friends with Russia and boosting trade, especially in agriculture.
The National Logistics Cell (NLC) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) joined hands to send sixteen trucks filled with fresh fruits on a long journey of nearly 6,000 kilometers to reach Russian cities like Derbent and Grozny.
This move is a game-changer for Pakistan’s trade plans, especially in selling fruits to Russia. Instead of taking months by sea, the journey now only takes 18 days through a direct land route passing through Iran and Azerbaijan. This new route avoids the challenges of going through Afghanistan. To keep the fruits fresh, the trucks maintain the right temperatures throughout the trip.
The collaboration between NLC and SIFC has impressed Russia, which has praised the effort for boosting trade between the two countries. This new direct route is changing the way Pakistan and Russia do business, opening up many opportunities and possibly increasing trade to $20 billion.
NLC, a government agency that specializes in transport and logistics, is playing a crucial role in Pakistan’s efforts to export various products, including bananas, meat, and grains, not only to Russia but also to countries in Central Asia and China.
This achievement shows Pakistan’s dedication to finding new ways to grow its trade globally, setting the stage for partnerships that benefit both sides and lead to economic progress.
