Who can get cheap houses in the new plan by the Punjab government?

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, recently announced a significant initiative to provide housing relief to residents across various cities in the province.

This plan, known as “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,” aims to distribute 100,000 houses to individuals in need. During a meeting held in Lahore to review the project, the chief minister emphasized its importance in addressing the housing needs of citizens.

The initiative involves selecting suitable land locations close to urban centers, such as Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha, where the housing project will be launched. The Board of Revenue has identified 17 potential sites within these cities for the housing projects.

Maryam Nawaz clarified that these houses will be allocated to low-income individuals. However, detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, including minimum income thresholds and payment methods, is yet to be provided by the authorities.

This housing initiative is expected to significantly impact the lives of many residents by providing them with secure and affordable housing options. It reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the housing challenges faced by low-income families in Punjab.
