Imran Khan chooses Sher Afzal Marwat and Omar Ayub for important roles in the National Assembly.

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has appointed Omar Ayub Khan and Sher Afzal Marwat, leaders of his party, to key positions in the National Assembly while he is in jail.

He named Sher Afzal Marwat as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and Omar Ayub Khan as the Leader of the Opposition.

Khan denies knowledge of a forward bloc formed by 40 MPAs in the Punjab Assembly and calls for an investigation into US Undersecretary of State Donald Lu’s statement.

Khan also addressed the issue of the cipher, stating that he was only given a paraphrased copy of it and should not be held accountable for its theft.

He called for two judicial commissions to investigate the May 9 violence and the alleged vote rigging in the February 8 general elections.

He believes his party is being targeted using the May 9 riots as an excuse and considers the Senate and presidential elections meaningless as they are based on the allegedly rigged general elections. He stated that he could be kept in jail, but other members of his party should be released.
