But why is TikTok doing this? Well, they want to show young people how awesome science can be! There are already tons of science videos on TikTok (almost 15 million in the last few years!), and some scientists are even using the platform to share their work. Dr. Clara Nellist, a scientist who studies tiny particles, uses TikTok to show people how much fun science can be. She hopes this new section will encourage even more young people to get excited about science and maybe even consider a career in this field someday!
Another scientist, Eleonora Svanberg, thinks this is a great way to show that anyone can be a scientist! She wants to see more videos featuring scientists from all different backgrounds. This way, young people can see scientists who look like them and realize that science is for everyone!
