OpenAI thinks this could be dangerous, especially because it’s an election year. Imagine someone making fake news videos where a politician says things they never did! That’s why OpenAI won’t let everyone use this software yet.
But here’s the surprising part: other companies are already selling similar programs! Some people can even buy this software themselves, while other companies use it to make movies sound more realistic.
This whole voice cloning thing is kind of new, and it’s not yet clear if it will be a good or bad thing in the long run. We’ll have to wait and see!
