Omar Ayub has been chosen as the opposition leader in the National Assembly.

The process of choosing the opposition leader in the National Assembly is finished.

The NA secretariat has issued a notification confirming the appointment of the opposition leader in the Lower House of Parliament. Omar Ayub, the nominated candidate for this role, met with the National Assembly speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, who informed him that a notification would be released.

Now, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has officially issued the notification for the opposition leader. The selection of the opposition leader was delayed because of disagreements within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. There were differences over who should hold the position of the opposition leader and the parliamentary leader in the National Assembly.

Sources say that instead of Umar Ayub, who was nominated by the founder of PTI, former speaker Asad Qaiser put himself forward for the important role. Asad Qaiser recently met with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and requested that the notification for the opposition leader not be issued at this time.
