Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar’s Zindagi original Mrs & Mr. Shameem will be premiering on the platform’s YouTube channel on April 26 at 7:30 pm.
The show originally aired on the Indian-owned Zindagi website and was not available for viewing in Pakistan. The channel has now decided to air it on YouTube almost two years after the show was originally broadcast.
The show was widely praised for challenging societal norms and redefining the meaning of love and masculinity. Following the success of Abdullahpur Ka Devdas, Mrs & Mr Shameem is the second original series to be shared on the platform’s newly set up YouTube channel.
In a world where conventional notions of romance and gender roles dominate, Mrs & Mr Shameem dare to tell a different story. Through the journey of Shameem, portrayed by Ijaz, and Umaina (Saba Qamar), audiences will witness a love that transcends boundaries and defies expectations.
The series has 20 episodes and will air every Tuesday and Friday at 7:30 pm, starting from April 26.
Qamar expressed her excitement and said, “Portraying Umaina in Mrs & Mr Shameem has been an exhilarating journey for me, where I immersed myself in her character, discovering a profound empathy for her struggles and an admiration for her carefree spirit. This series fearlessly challenges societal norms, highlighting the genuine essence of love and marriage. I’m immensely proud to contribute to it, and I’m thrilled that it will now reach global audiences via Zindagi’s YouTube channel.”
Mrs & Mr Shameem is directed by Kashif Nisar, who is known for dramas Dumpukht Aatish E Ishq, and O Rangreza. It has been produced by Nisar and Misbah Shafique while the script has been penned by contemporary writer Sajjad Gul.
