LUMS Students Showcase Education Projects at Third Practicum Conference

LUMS’ School of Education (SOE) held its third Practicum Conference, where graduate students in the MPhil Education Leadership and Management program presented their final projects.

These projects tackled real education issues in Pakistan, with students working alongside partner organizations.

Over 500 attendees, including professors, students, LUMS leaders, and education experts, joined the event. Dr. Ali Cheema, head of LUMS, praised the students’ work, highlighting how it embodies SOE’s mission of combining education with action to improve Pakistan’s schools.

Beyond project presentations, the conference featured student displays and presentations on various education topics like teaching methods, inclusive education, and educational technology. Panel discussions tackled critical education challenges and potential solutions.

Keynote speaker Mr. Richard Geary, an education program founder, motivated the audience, saying: “There’s so much to be done, but anything is possible with passion and creativity!”

Dr. Tayyaba Tamim, Dean of SOE, emphasized the importance of university-industry partnerships: “We partner with real organizations to find innovative solutions. Working together bridges the gap between research and practice. SOE students tackle real issues alongside real partners.”
