May 1st is International Labour Day! In Pakistan, it’s a day to celebrate workers and all they do.
People have rallies and meetings to discuss how important it is for workers to be treated fairly and get paid what they deserve.
Many workers in Pakistan have tough jobs with low pay and no safety gear. President Zardari says the government needs to take better care of workers by giving them fair wages, safe workplaces, and protection from being cheated.
Prime Minister Sharif agrees. His government is working on making Pakistan’s worker laws as good as the best ones in the world. He also wants to make sure workplaces are safe and healthy for everyone.
