On Friday, Naila Bhatti, the Commissioner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), resigned from her position.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accepted her resignation. Naila had been part of the team working under former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi and reportedly left due to disagreements with board officials.
Also, recently, Dr. Sohail Saleem, the Director of Medical and Sports Sciences, tendered his resignation, which the PCB also accepted. This decision came after the medical committee’s findings regarding negligence in the treatment of cricketer Ihsanullah’s injury.
Reports are suggesting that next year’s PSL might coincide with the Indian Premier League (IPL). The PCB is considering three different time frames for hosting the PSL in 2025. The most preferred option is to schedule it during April and May, which overlaps with the IPL.
The PCB is carefully weighing the pros and cons of holding the PSL at the same time as the IPL. They are evaluating the potential benefits and challenges that come with running the league concurrently with one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the world.
