The royal family posted new photos of King Charles along with an update on his health.

King Charles III, who recently missed Prince Harry’s Invictus Games event in London, surprised everyone with a visit to an army barracks in Hampshire on Thursday.

Despite ongoing cancer treatment, the 75-year-old King was in good spirits during the visit, joking that he was “allowed out of my cage” for the occasion.

During his visit to the Royal School of Military Engineering as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Engineers, King Charles III engaged with officers from the 8 Engineer Brigade HQ. This brigade supports Ukrainian training efforts and critical national infrastructure and ensures readiness for NATO and Middle East operations.

The King also took time to meet families and staff members outside, signing the regiment’s visitors’ book and receiving gifts of flowers and Royal Engineer china mugs from children of serving soldiers. His visit was documented on the royal family’s social media accounts, providing updates on his health and activities.

The King’s son Prince Harry attended an Invictus Games event in London, where his father was unable to meet with him due to other commitments. Prince Charles, Harry’s brother, was also busy in Cornwall engaging with members of the RNLI and local organizations and even participated in a volleyball game with teenagers from a lifesaving club in Newquay.
