The military says they caught a group of bad guys (terrorists) hiding in a remote area of Balochistan, near a place called Sambaza.
Sounds like they got a heads-up (intelligence) about these guys and sent in some soldiers to take care of business (conducted an intelligence-based operation). There was a major shootout (intense exchange of fire), but the soldiers came out on top, killing three of the attackers. They also found weapons, ammo, and bombs on the dead guys.
A Pakistani soldier named Major Babar Khan died in the fight. He was only 33 and from a place called Mianwali. The military says he was a real hero (fought gallantly) who died protecting his team (embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front).
Soldiers are still checking the area to make sure no other attackers are hiding.
The military says this attack won’t stop them from keeping things safe in Balochistan. They’re determined to fight anyone who tries to mess things up (thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability, and progress). They mentioned that other soldiers died fighting attackers in a different part of Pakistan recently too (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province).
