In Pakistan, Christians celebrate Christmas with great joy.

Christmas is being joyfully celebrated by the Christian community in Pakistan, as it is in other parts of the world. Churches and streets decked out in bright lights and Christmas trees are a clear indication of the holiday spirit.

Holiday decorations abound in markets, and bakeries are selling special Christmas cakes. To partake in the joyous festivities, a large number of kids are dressing as Santa Claus.

Families are attending prayer services in churches where members of the Christian community are gathered in festive clothing.

Security measures, including forces stationed outside churches to prevent any untoward incidents, have been put in place to ensure the safety of the Christian community.

On this unique occasion, the Christian community has received warm greetings from President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. Minorities in Pakistan have complete access to all political, economic, and social rights that are protected by the Constitution, as President Alvi made clear.

He reiterated the nation’s commitment on the part of the government to defend the rights of all religious minorities.

The prime minister celebrated Christmas as a time of love, brotherhood, patience, and sacrifice in a different message. He underlined how important these principles are in directing society in the direction of progress.

“Pakistan is our home, and on this occasion of Christmas, we should pledge that together we will make Pakistan a model of religious tolerance and brotherhood,” stated the prime minister, urging unity among the people.
