The bodies of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and others were moved to Tabriz.

The bodies of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the foreign minister, and other officials killed in a helicopter crash have been transported to Tabriz, according to state media quoting the Red Crescent.

The Red Crescent confirmed that the bodies of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir were found in the wreckage. Some bodies were burned beyond recognition, officials said.

President Raisi was returning to Tabriz after opening a dam, with the President of Azerbaijan also attending the ceremony.

The helicopter, carrying President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, and a representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader, crashed in the Dizmar Forest due to bad weather.

The crash happened between Ozi District and Pir Daoud Town. Reports say the crash was caused by heavy fog and rain.
