PTI President Parvez Elahi was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail after LHC granted bail.

PTI leader Parvez Elahi was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday night after the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted him bail in a case about an allegedly illegal appointment he made as the chief minister of Punjab.

LHC Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmed approved Elahi’s bail earlier in the day, requiring him to pay Rs500,000 and provide two sureties of the same amount.

Elahi’s lawyer, Amir Saeed Rawn, said Elahi had returned to the Zahoor Elahi Palace. Elahi had been jailed earlier this month.

In a message on his official X account, Elahi thanked God for his release and praised the judges who supported him. He also thanked his supporters for their prayers. Elahi criticized the suffering of the people of Gujarat, claiming their mandate was stolen. He ruled out any discussions with his cousin, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid chief Chaudhry Shujaat, and his children until “the return of our mandate.”

Elahi accused Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of being involved in his arrest and reiterated his strong support for Imran Khan, saying, “I was, am, and will remain with Imran Khan.”
