iPhone 16 Pro gets new cameras, Pro Max gets a wider wide-angle camera.

According to recent leaks originating from Weibo, Apple appears poised to implement significant camera advancements within the forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max iterations.

These enhancements have the potential to propel Apple to the forefront of smartphone camera technology.

The rumored upgrades for the iPhone 16 Pro center around a novel 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. This augmented sensor resolution promises to dramatically improve photographic capabilities, particularly when capturing expansive vistas or group photos. Notably, this aligns with earlier rumors that surfaced last October, suggesting a concerted effort by Apple in this area.

Furthermore, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo lends credence to the speculation that the iPhone 16 Pro will inherit the coveted 5x Tetraprism telephoto module currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This development would ensure feature parity between the Pro and Pro Max models for telephoto functionality.

However, the Weibo post suggests a strategic divergence for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. While it may not receive a further boost in zoom capabilities, it appears Apple will prioritize enhancing its ultrawide camera, mirroring the upgrade slated for the iPhone 16 Pro. This strategy ensures both Pro models offer a robust telephoto feature while simultaneously elevating the ultrawide photography experience across the entire iPhone 16 Pro lineup.
