PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV: Can you get it?

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to relaunch the PM Laptop Scheme.

He has asked the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to start buying laptops. Once HEC finishes this, the registration process will start. This article explains when registration will begin, how to register, eligibility criteria, and other important details about the laptop scheme.

How to Apply for PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV?

The registration for PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV has not started yet. Right now, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is buying laptops as instructed by the Prime Minister. Once this is done, the registration process will officially start.

There is no set date for when registration will begin, but it is expected to start within the next month. Once it begins, students across the country can register by visiting the official Government of Pakistan website: https://pmyp.gov.pk/.

Eligible Universities for PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV

To register for the laptop scheme in 2024, students must be enrolled in an HEC-approved public sector university or its sub-campus. Here are the requirements:

Eligibility Criteria for PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV

  • Students must be residents of Pakistan.
  • Students must have a valid Pakistani identity card.
  • Students must be enrolled in public sector universities or HEC-approved degree-awarding institutions.
  • Students must be pursuing a PhD, MS, MPhil, or an equivalent 18-year program at an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Male and female students must be enrolled in four-year or five-year bachelor’s degree programs at HEC-approved institutions, whether in morning or evening sessions.
  • Students enrolled in MBA programs are also eligible.

Who is Ineligible for PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV?

The following students are not eligible for the laptop scheme:

  • Students who are not residents of Pakistan.
  • Students without a valid Pakistani identity card.
  • Students who cannot provide the required educational documents for verification.
  • Students who have received laptops in earlier phases of the laptop scheme.
  • Students studying for government degrees, postgraduate colleges, or affiliated colleges.
  • Students who have not submitted an online application for the laptop.
  • Students who have completed their degree program at the time of laptop distribution.
