Bill Gates’ youngest daughter, Phoebe Gates, confirmed her relationship with Arthur McCartney through a graduation photo diary.
After graduating with a degree in human biology from Stanford University in just three years, Phoebe shared pictures from her June 15 celebration. In one photo, Arthur gave her a piggyback ride, which she captioned, “My boyfriend, Arthur, giving me a lift post-ceremony.” She also shared another photo of them, captioning it, “With Arthur, he cleans up nicely.”
Phoebe, who had kept her relationship private until now, posted the photo diary on Instagram with the caption, “Graduated.” While many congratulated her, some users were curious about her previous relationship with Robert Ross, a fellow Stanford alum. One user asked, “You broke up with the black guy?” and another pointed out that it might have been mutual.
Arthur McCartney, the eldest son of Mary McCartney and Alistair Donald and grandson of Beatles legend Paul McCartney, was previously dating Ava Phillippe, daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. Phoebe and Arthur have been seen together since October 2023, including at the premiere of “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” in New York City.
Phoebe is currently working on launching a tech company and fashion startup called Phia and often advocates for women’s rights. Bill and his ex-wife Melinda, who divorced in 2021, also have a son named Rory, 25, and a daughter named Jennifer, 28, who married Nayel Nassar in October 2021.
