The PTI parliamentary party has refused to accept Omar Ayub’s decision to quit.

The decision was made during a meeting of the PTI and SIC parliamentary groups at the Parliament House.

Omar Ayub Khan, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Asad Gohar, Ali Muhammad Khan, and other party leaders attended the meeting.

In a resolution, the parliamentary group rejected the resignation of the opposition leader in the National Assembly from his role as PTI Secretary-General. They also praised him for his leadership during challenging times for the party.

The meeting also decided to inform the PTI founder about the parliamentary group’s decision.

On Thursday night, the PTI leader resigned from his position within the party.

Details reveal that Omar Ayub, who also serves as the opposition leader in the National Assembly, stepped down from his role as PTI Secretary-General. He sent a letter to the party’s founder, Imran Khan, formally announcing his resignation.

He publicly announced his resignation through a post on the social media platform X.

“I appreciate the PTI founder for accepting my resignation as Secretary-General,” he wrote. Omar Ayub mentioned that he submitted his resignation to the party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on June 22, with Shibli Faraz conveying his message to the PTI founder who is currently in jail.
