Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has banned medical treatment abroad and buying new vehicles.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has banned buying new vehicles and spending on workshops, seminars, and medical treatment abroad at government expense.

These steps are part of a new austerity policy.

The finance department sent a letter to all departments, explaining these new rules approved by the provincial cabinet. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur can make exceptions to the hiring ban on a case-by-case basis.

The ban does not include ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, buses, and machinery. Travel for workshops, seminars, and training abroad, as well as medical treatment abroad, is also banned if funded by the government. Any extension of project employees’ contracts needs approval from the Finance Department, and no new hires can be made without their permission. Departments cannot keep receipts in bank accounts.
