Monsoon rains raise fears of urban flooding in the city.

The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has issued a warning that monsoon rains could hit Sindh in the next 12 to 24 hours.

Areas like Kashmore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Umerkot, Badin, Mithi, and Tharparkar might experience urban flooding and rising water in streams due to heavy rain. People in these areas should follow local authority instructions to reduce flood risks.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has asked the irrigation department to prepare for possible river flooding. He emphasized the need for coordination among law enforcement, the Pakistan Navy, and other departments to handle emergencies quickly.

The NEOC also predicted flash floods in streams in Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Murree, Galliyat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat, Kashmir, and the hill torrents of D.G. Khan and Rajanpur.
