President Zardari worried about agricultural tax.

President Asif Ali Zardari wants smart financial policies to help the country grow.

At a seminar, he mentioned plans to tax agricultural income to meet International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions. The provinces will lead this, taxing large landowners based on their profits and expenses.

Zardari emphasized that agriculture and related industries are the future, so big landowners should pay taxes. He also talked about how he’s often criticized in the media but doesn’t let it bother him.

He supports press freedom but not when it pushes a specific agenda. He warned about groups trying to divide the Muslim world and said social media has made it easier to spread information, so people should be careful about agenda-driven news.
