ISLAMABAD – The Finance Division has announced an increase in the base tariff of electricity by up to Rs7.12 per unit, following approval from the government and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
Lifeline consumers using up to 50 units per month will continue to pay Rs3.95 per unit, while those using 51 to 100 units per month will now pay Rs7.74 per unit.
Consumers using up to 200 units per month are exempt from the tariff increase for three months and will pay the old rates during July, August, and September.
For those consuming 201 to 300 units per month, the new rate is Rs34.26 per unit, reflecting a Rs7.12 increase. Users consuming 301 to 400 units will now pay Rs39.15 per unit, an increase of Rs7.02. For those using 401 to 500 units, the rate has risen by Rs6.12 to Rs41.36 per unit.
For consumption between 501 and 600 units, the rate is Rs42.78 per unit, an increase of Rs6.12, and for 601 to 700 units, the rate is Rs43.92 per unit, also up by Rs6.12. Consumers using more than 700 units will now pay Rs48.84 per unit, after a Rs6.12 increase.
The revised tariffs will also apply to Karachi Electric consumers.
