Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi reached a significant religious milestone by performing Umrah, announcing the news on Sunday.
Sharing his gratitude on Instagram, Shaheen posted a heartfelt caption, “Ka’abe ki ronak – Ka’abe ka manzar Allahu Akbar – Allahu Akbar,” accompanied by a photo of himself standing inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah with the Ka’aba in the background.
The social media update offers a glimpse into Shaheen’s personal life, where he often shares moments from both his cricket career and daily experiences.
Recently, Shaheen has been in the spotlight due to reports from coaches and management staff. There have been accounts of a heated exchange between Shaheen and Mohammad Yousaf during a practice session and his reluctance to engage in team discussions before crucial World Cup matches.
Media reports also indicated that the national selection committee, including coaches Mohammad Yousaf and Asad Shafiq, along with support staff, were awaiting a final decision on Afridi’s participation in the Bangladesh Test series due to concerns over his attitude.
Despite these issues, it has been confirmed that Afridi will be available for the Test series starting in August in Rawalpindi.
