The Pakistani government has announced its decision to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from mainstream politics. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar made the announcement on Monday, emphasizing the growing divide between the government and PTI.
“Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Insaf cannot move forward together,” Tarar stated. “There is an impression that no one can lay a hand on PTI leaders, and our patience and tolerance have been mistaken for weakness.”
Tarar criticized PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, calling him a “fascist ruler” and recalling the arrests of women during his regime. He also mentioned that the government plans to file a review appeal against the recent Supreme Court decision that favored Imran Khan’s party.
This significant development comes just days after the Supreme Court issued a landmark verdict supporting PTI, highlighting the ongoing tensions and political turmoil in Pakistan.
