KARACHI – Karachi Airport has received a seal of approval from a team of Canadian aviation experts, affirming its security measures meet international standards.
A two-member team from Canada’s Civil Aviation and Transport Department, led by Ms. Barbara Duret, conducted a three-day assessment starting July 15. Their mission was to evaluate the airport’s security protocols, particularly those concerning direct Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Canada.
During their visit, the team thoroughly inspected the airport’s security arrangements. The Chief Security Officer of Karachi Airport provided a comprehensive briefing, detailing the various safety measures in place. The Canadian experts closely examined these measures to ensure they met global standards.
Special attention was given to the additional security protocols for PIA’s direct flights to Canada. The Canadian team’s assessment concluded with a ceremony in the Chief Security Officer’s office, where they declared Karachi Airport’s security arrangements both satisfactory and compliant with international standards.
This positive evaluation by Canadian aviation experts underscores Karachi Airport’s commitment to maintaining high security standards, ensuring safe travel for passengers on international routes.
