Islamabad High Court Rules PTI Activist Sanam Javed’s Arrest Illegal

In a significant development, the Islamabad High Court has declared the arrest of PTI activist Sanam Javed unlawful. The Attorney General informed Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb that Balochistan police no longer sought her transit remand, allowing her to return home.

During the court proceedings, the judge addressed Sanam Javed’s counsel regarding her online behavior, expressing concerns about inappropriate language. The lawyer assured the court that Sanam Javed would refrain from such conduct in the future.

Following the court’s ruling, Sanam Javed was released, with the Islamabad High Court prohibiting any further arrests related to her case and instructing her to remain in Islamabad and maintain silence.

Recently, the Lahore High Court dismissed a case against Sanam Javed related to riots in Gujranwala on May 9. Despite being granted bail in all Lahore cases, she faced a new case in Gujranwala, leading to her rearrest by Islamabad police upon leaving Gujranwala’s Central Jail.

This legal saga underscores ongoing legal battles and the complex nature of her situation within Pakistan’s judicial framework.
