PTI Accused of Promoting India-Backed Agenda in Pakistan, Says Federal Minister

Attaullah Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of advancing an India-sponsored agenda in Pakistan. The minister made these allegations after it was revealed that Raoof Hasan, PTI’s Information Secretary, had connections with an Indian journalist.

Hasan was arrested on July 22 by Islamabad police for allegedly leading a digital media cell that was involved in spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda. The minister claimed that this revelation exposed PTI as a “foreign-funded” party, alleging that Indians financially supported PTI to further their agenda in Pakistan.

Tarar also linked the May 9 riots to PTI’s alleged involvement with foreign elements, suggesting that the party’s social media campaigns have harmed Pakistan’s national integrity and its military. He further criticized PTI supporters, saying they were fulfilling India’s agenda while living in Pakistan.

The minister also mentioned the recent arrest of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Faiz Hamid, who is being investigated for land-grabbing and other allegations. Tarar claimed that Hamid was a tool used by PTI to create political instability in the country.
