RAWALPINDI: Pakistan successfully conducted a training launch of its surface-to-surface ballistic missile, Shaheen-II, on Tuesday, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The purpose of the training launch was to train the troops, validate various technical parameters, and evaluate the performance of different sub-systems designed to improve accuracy and enhance the missile’s survivability.
The test was observed by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations.
The Director General of the Strategic Plans Division praised the technical skills, dedication, and commitment of the scientists and engineers involved in this significant achievement, according to the ISPR.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the chiefs of the armed services extended their congratulations to the team of scientists and engineers on this successful launch.
