PESHAWAR: Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, a senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former federal minister, has announced his retirement from politics. According to ARY News, Bilour made the decision to leave political life and move to Islamabad.
Bilour, who had lost the last three elections in Peshawar, cited personal losses as a major factor in his decision. His brother Bashir Bilour and nephew Haroon Bilour were killed by militants, which deeply affected him. He also mentioned feeling disheartened after being declared a loser in four elections he believed he had won.
The veteran politician said he no longer has an interest in staying in Peshawar and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in Islamabad.
