Punjab Police Foil Terrorist Attack on Mianwali Check Post

MIANWALI: Punjab Police successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Kabul Khel police checkpoint in Mianwali late Sunday night. A group of 12-14 militants attacked the post using rocket launchers and hand grenades, but the officers on duty responded quickly with heavy gunfire, forcing the attackers to flee.

Two police officers sustained minor injuries, but no lives were lost in the exchange. A search operation is now underway to capture the fleeing terrorists.

Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the bravery of the officers, noting that this is the ninth terrorist attack on Punjab Police in recent months that has been successfully stopped. He emphasized the commitment of law enforcement to continue protecting against threats at inter-provincial borders.
