Chief Election Commissioner Suspends Three Officers for Mismanagement

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja has suspended three election officers due to incompetence and mismanagement.

The officers affected are Sindh Election Commissioner Sharifullah, Director of Administration Azhar Hussain Tunio, and Karachi Election Officer Khuda Bux. They have been suspended for 120 days and will remain in Karachi until an inquiry is completed.

This decision follows previous tensions, as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected allegations made by Omar Ayub Khan regarding the budget for the upcoming 2024 general elections. Khan claimed that the ECP requested more funding to delay the elections, which the ECP strongly denied.
