KARACHI: Recent reports reveal that Afghan citizens are illegally using Pakistan as a transit point to reach other countries. Nine Afghan nationals have been arrested for trying to travel to Japan and the United States with fraudulent medical visas from Pakistan.
Authorities believe this increase in illegal travel is due to the suspension of visit visas for Afghan nationals. The arrested individuals arrived in Islamabad from Kabul, claiming to seek medical treatment, supported by fake medical certificates. They then applied for visas from various embassies to continue their journey.
In the last three days, immigration officials at Karachi Airport detained these nine individuals, leading to three cases being registered against them. Following court orders, they have been transferred to jail.
This situation has raised concerns about the potential involvement of some Pakistani officials and agents in facilitating these illegal activities.
