MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) successfully stopped a human trafficking operation in Multan, preventing over a dozen passengers from boarding a flight to Saudi Arabia.
FIA officials reported that 15 passengers were removed from the Saudi-bound flight after suspicions arose. Further investigation revealed that the passengers intended to travel on to Spain, which raised concerns of a human trafficking scheme.
Two human traffickers, who had arranged the illegal travel, were arrested on the spot. The traffickers had charged each passenger around PKR 1.5 million for the journey to Spain. Legal action has been initiated against them.
Human trafficking remains a major issue in Pakistan, and the FIA has been actively working to combat such illegal activities. Similar arrests have recently been made in Karachi and Lahore, as the agency intensifies efforts to protect individuals from exploitation.
